As independent bands climb the ladders of their industry, they're often told to come up with a story to tell. For Rightfully Accused, finding a story is not the problem. Rather, which story to tell, is the more perplexing question for this group.
This is no longer the story of a bunch of young boys who set out with a common vision of attaining great musical success, certainly it started out that way, but over the years those boys have grown into young men. Young men who've been through dozens of trials individually and as a group, but continued to stand tall.
This is now the story of a group of Americans who can relate to every worker who has fought to keep their livelihood alive, only to lose everything to circumstances beyond their control. It's the story of a generation who grew up in a land of promise, now dazed by the truths of a world that radically changed just as they were coming into their own. It's the story of every broken hearted soul who's ever loved someone, or something they couldn't have. It's the story of every frustrated, torn, confused, broken soul out there. But, it's also a story of perseverance, an unwillingness to bend or break under the pressure that the world continues to relentlessly barrage us all with. It's a story of affirmative action in the face of adversity. This is also a story of men who believe that perhaps the trials were necessary to help each person find themselves, to humble a selfish culture that needed to realize its hidden strengths. This is a story of passion, pain, strength , love, and growth.
Through an epic live performance which features a robust eleven pieces, complete with a string section, keyboards, and background vocalists to accompany the original guitar, bass, and drums line-up, the group blends various characteristics of rock, pop, dance, R&B and more for a fresh original sound. In their newest album, Western Air - Elements of the New American Dream, Rightfully Accused takes on the daunting task of trying to articulate the multi-faceted emotional complexity that surges through the hearts, minds, and souls of the modern American.

Lyrics
Changes
I've been waiting down here for you a long, long time
Now you're here and I'm dieing to leave
I've been swimming around its my choice
But I'm gonna drown soon if I don't get up for air
Yeah all I really want is to breathe its been so long
Chorus
And it brings these changes
I've had enough but you're holding me down, come on
It's these changes
I swear to move I'll do all I can do
I keep fighting just to get out
Surrounded by the feel as it eats me alive
I can't stop it if I want it's like my heart's own suicide
In fact it only grows much stronger
I think I see the sun again
But the light's too dim and I don't know where to shine
Yeah all I really want is to see its been so long
Bridge
Think for the long run
No promise but I'll tell
So you're knockin em down yeah
Knockin em down
Talk about choices
Then tie yourself down
Plug yourself in it's the only way to go
Point of the Matter
I practiced all the lines, it must've been a thousand times
But still forgot them all each time I looked into your eyes
But what can I expect when all I ever see of you
Is "hi, hello" but baby's always just passing through
I've got respect for every single thing it is you do
Wouldn't have it any other way to tell the truth
But that's beside the point the problem here is me and you
There's just so much that I never got through
Chorus:
And the point of the matter
Is none of it matters
Not a day goes by you aint on my mind
And each time I turn away
It's like the whole world shatters
And you aint there to help me put it back again
It's hardly fair to say I don't have a reason
Yeah, you were there is it so hard to remember
I'm not the type to simply turn to emotion
I wouldn't be here if you hadn't come too
Bridge:
I know that you check in baby
You must think from time to time
Cuz you can't keep your distance baby
Time and time again you'll call
Life is a Game
I say step back
Take a good look around
You said this is how you want it but look what you've found
You want it
All night, and all of the time
Said you like it dirty
No reason or rhyme
You like the way that it sounds but baby look what you pay
You say its just a little grit but it eats you away
Life is a game that you learn while you play it
Just roll the dice aint never hurt no one
Dirty for dirty just put another bottle down
But you ought to know by now
You say step back
I like where I'm at.
And I hear what you're saying but I know you don't mean that
No you're, too deep
And too far behind
You tell me not to worry but I'm losing my mind
I like the way that it sounds but babe it took me so far away
I say its just a little grit but it eats me away
C'est la vie you say to me its all you'll ever know
Aint ever hurt no one no no

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Rightfully Accused Announces Indefinite Delay on Western Air Part II Release
Sean Murray to focus on solo efforts
Denver, Colorado/US - October 16th, 2011
Its a head-space issue. says Rightfully Accused singer and group leader Sean Murray. Nearly a year after the release of Western Air Part 1 - Classy, Chic, Sophisticated The group announced it would officially be putting off the release of the second part of the EP series even further, despite saying publicly on several occasions this past summer that the group planned on releasing the second installment in the near future.
For the past several months Ive been visiting the studio to record the songs for this album, but I find myself continually hitting a wall with production. This part of the album is considerably more raw and upbeat than the first EP, and to be honest, Im just really not in the right mood for that right now. Ill admit, even I think thats a tad whiney, I really have a job to do here. But, after putting a lot of thought into it and discussing the matter with Dave ((DiGiacomo) the bands drummer and only other regular member.), we came to the conclusion that its better to wait until were in the right head-space in order to put forth our best effort on this album. Explains Sean. I really do want to finish this album, but I dont feel like Im able to give it everything Ive got, or everything it, and the fans, deserve right now.
Over the past year while the group has been focusing on refining its monstrous eleven piece live production, and attempting to record the songs for Part II Sean has been writing new material alongside the project, as well as performing solo acoustic shows at small, intimate venues with several local musician friends. Apparently well be seeing a bit more from this angle over the next several months, including a new solo release.
I have tons of material! While Western Air is basically finished as far as the writing goes, life keeps moving along, so, of course, the writing does too. At the same time we decided to quit forcing the sessions for Part II I simultaneously decided Id go to work on a stripped down solo project. Ive already spent several days in the studio working on an EP which features some new material, some remakes of old material, and some deep cut stuff that we just never recorded before, all in a much more sparse, raw format than what we usually do with the band recordings. So much so that its really pretty likely that some of it might show up in more produced versions on later band releases.
While most details are still being kept secret with regards to that release, we know that it features a mix of acoustic guitar, and piano based material, and that Sean is hoping to release his solo EP sometime late October-November.
So what does this all mean for Rightfully Accused?
I tend to avoid making promises when emotions are involved, and of course they always are in music, but at this time I think I can certainly say that by no means is this an end to Rightfully Accused. Basically right now I feel I can move a little faster on my own, so much so that Jace Hill (Lost Point) and I have been talking about going out and doing little tours through the mid-west as soon as November and Id like to do even more traveling throughout the winter. This is basically a kind of musical sabbatical for me, allowing me to mentally and emotionally handle a number of personal issues Ive been battling with for several years now while playing with the band puzzle in my head a little and purging the song well in hopes of putting in some fresh water so to speak. In the end I think all of this will greatly benefit the band as a whole. Ive also had a bit of an issue with how infrequently weve been able to play live the past year (Three full band shows since last October), so this hopefully helps with the ability to give more fans, more of the shows I feel they deserve for the support theyve constantly shown us.
Updates for all of this as it develops can still be found on the Rightfully Accused website at www.rightfullyaccused.com or in real-time on the bands Facebook page. As the solo project really begins taking shape, look for links to a Sean Murray Solo page on RevebNation and Facebook.
Rightfully Accused is an original regional pop/rock/dance band based out of the Denver area with a vivid 15 year history. Denver Based Music Group “Rightfully Accused” Announces New Four-Part Album Release.
Denver, CO, USA - September 12, 2010 -
Rightfully Accused prepares to release part one of a four part album series titled “Western Air - Elements of the New American Dream” on October 31st, 2010 along with a spectacular live performance at Denver’s Gothic Theater.
Over a year and a half after the release of their first album “Ready or Not…”, Rightfully Accused announced plans to release a series of four short albums with individual themes that each fit into one larger album concept. The first EP, which will be released October 31st, is titled “Classy, Chic, Sophisticated” and will feature three singles that the group has been in the studio recording since mid-June.
Over the past several months the group has been letting fans know that they can expect some pretty major changes to the sound they’ve been used to. Already the band'’s web pages have seen a radical facelift with new logo’s and themes, often featuring the tag line, "“A new era begins.”.." Apparently the overall sound of the new album reflects these changes.
“Over the last couple years we’ve gone through a lot of trials that really caused us to grow as people, we’ve also opened ourselves up to a ton of new musical influences. All of this really came out in the writing and production for this album. To be honest, it’s almost a bit of a stretch to say we’re the same band we were before at all .” Says the group’s front man, Sean Murray.
To accompany the release of the album the group has also been polishing up a live show that was very much designed with the audience in mind.
Murray elaborates, “At some point during the planning of this album we took a step back and really thought about what our role in society is as a band. Amongst the multitude of conclusions we came to, our most basic function is to be entertainers. As obvious as that seems I think a lot of bands fall into a routine and start to take that for granted. With that in mind, we set out to create a show that really, truly makes our audience feel like they made the right choice coming to see us on any given night, in any given city. We want to earn the right to have people in front of us. It’s a tough idea when you start thinking about today’s entertainment options, but we’ve got a lot of surprises worked into this show that we’re very excited to show the world.”
Immediately after the release show, the group intends to begin working on a national tour schedule for 2010-2011.
Rightfully Accused is a band based out of Denver Colorado who describes their sound as a mix of R&B, Pop, Dance and Rock music. The group has played throughout Denver and the regional scene for about twelve years. More information can be found at www.rightfullyaccused.com.

Rightfully Accused's Sean Murray Releases Instrumental Single.
Earlier this week Rightfully Accused front man Sean Murray released an impromptu recording featuring an instrumental single by the name of "A Partir De Maintenant".
A solo effort featuring a piano theme with light string arrangements, the song is said to be the result of what amounts to a recorded jam session, said to be released from the bands "Random Ideas" folder, a file where the group keeps its various demos and developing song ideas.
The song is available for free download and can also be heard on the music page at www.rightfullyaccused.com
